With the Thanksgiving leftovers still cooling in the fridge, millions of shoppers will descend on shopping malls, city streets and the internet hoping to get a start on their holiday gift giving. This year we’re asking you to consider something a bit different…
This has been such an incredible year of growth and change for us here at United Patients Group. The most significant being the announcement of the formal launch of our non-profit in September 2015. As our work continued to expand from the humble beginnings of providing information for patients and others seeking insight and guidance on medical cannabis, the effort grew to what it is today – a website bursting at the seams, with thousands of pages of information, hundreds of consultations per year to people desperate for credible guidance and advice for themselves or their loved ones, and a global call for education and information. We held our first conference and brought together speakers, educators and patients – all eager to share their knowledge, or just their very-human (and humbling) stories.
In 2015, we realized that in order to truly drive change, we would need to expand our services and take a leadership position by spearheading funding for research and clinical trials, along with building out education forums, training and educational programs for healthcare providers, mental health professionals, nurse practitioners and others in the medical cannabis field. The decision to launch our non-profit came about organically. And in less than two months since its inception, United Patients Group is launching our first-ever capital campaign – and will be kicking it off on December 1st as part of Support United Patients Group Education – a global, philanthropic event that focuses on one simple mission: giving back.
Our theme is simple (and happens to be our new tag line as well): Be Informed. Be Well.
Starting next Tuesday, December 1st, you have the opportunity to join with United Patients Group and kick off the season of giving. Perhaps try something different this year and instead of rushing to beat out the person next to you for that coveted iPad or Xbox – consider helping us make an impact that could affect millions of lives for generations to come.
