What Medications Interact with CBD Oil?

Hi, everyone, today’s question is what medications interact with CBD oil.

We have been getting a lot of questions about interactions with medications, CBD, and THC with all sorts of different medicines and we will try to address all of them today, I thought I would just say three important things.

Number one, when it comes to interactions, we have to consider absorption in the gut.

So other medicines that may affect absorption and distribution in the bloodstream can have an effect.

The second thing is metabolism, certain medications will be metabolized in the liver along with CBD, and there can be an interaction there when the chemical processing takes place.

And the third has to do with the effect.

If you want a specific effect from your CBD or THC.

Sometimes other medications can have the same effect.

And the two can work together or be added on to each other synergistically to amplify the effect or in some cases detract so when considering medication interactions, and we will get to the details about specific medicines in other conversations.

But for now, I want everybody to understand that we consider at least three different things absorption and distribution, metabolism primarily in the liver.

And the third has to do with specific effects and how certain medications and your cannabinoids interact.

So there’s a lot to unpack there and we will try to get to it all.
