Hi, everyone.
Today’s question is, how much CBD oil should I take?
Well, the answer depends on what you want to achieve and what kind of CBD oil products you have.
So for example, if it’s a CBD isolate, and there are no terpenes, or THC, a small dose of five or 10 milligrams can have an alerting feelgood effect, and higher doses in the range of 25 milligrams can have a relaxation effect.
Some of the CBD products available have small amounts of terpenes, like myrcene that causes sedation.
So even with a small amount of CBD, you can also have a relaxation effect if myrcene is in there.
For kids with epilepsy, for example, much higher doses of CBD are necessary 500 or 1000 milligrams twice a day, for example.
And most of those kids do just fine.
But we have to be careful at the higher doses because there are reports of elevation and liver enzymes, which can be dangerous with those high doses.
So in general, we recommend that for our patients, they start with 10 or 20 milligrams of CBD once or twice a day just to see how it affects them.
It can cause some stomach upset in some people or make some people feel nervous.
But if you’re able to tolerate 10 or 20 milligrams once or twice a day, and it doesn’t quite achieve the results you want.
Then we slowly increase the dose up to the 25 or 50 milligrams once or twice-daily dose.
Remember, it all depends on the product quality, what other ingredients are in the product, and what the treatment goal is.
So think about that.
Individualize your therapy and you should be fine.
